Children experiencing extreme poverty often lack the support and resources needed to excel in school. A national study released in 2021 shows that students who do not read proficiently by third grade are four times more likely to leave high school without a diploma than proficient readers. If a child is not a proficient reader when they begin fourth grade, as much as half of the curriculum they will be taught will be incomprehensible.

With this in mind, our tutoring and mentorship programs are free for qualified elementary aged children and focus on building competencies in reading, writing and math. Our programs support academic success during the school year, prevent summer learning loss, and provide basic need support services such as healthy food and safe supervision.

Above all else, our students receive personal mentorship from adults who care about their success and are empowered to have a motivated and positive mindset.

2024 CURRENT LEARN NOW PROGRAMS

Our Learning Now Programs are free for qualified low-income, at-risk and underserved students. The Muindi Foundation works with children entering into 1 – 5th grades.

In our programs, your child will get 1:1 tutoring and will participate in small group learning focused on math and language arts, which includes grammar, writing, reading and comprehension. Our program provides an opportunity for your child to be creative, think out of the box and learn in a fun and safe environment while receiving the extra attention they need from our positive and supportive team.

Our in-person programs are held at 1040 Park Ave, Suite 200-D, San Jose, CA 95126 (upstairs).
