Our LearnNow Programs
Children experiencing poverty often lack the support and resources needed to excel in school. A national study released in 2021 showed that students who do not read proficiently by third grade are four times more likely to leave high school without a diploma than proficient readers. If a child is not a proficient reader when they begin fourth grade, as much as half of the curriculum they will be taught will be incomprehensible.
Our LearnNow programs -- Homework Club and Academic Summer Camp -- help kids bridge the gap from the classroom to competency to ensure they stay at grade-level work or above.

Our early education programs are free for qualified elementary aged children
Our LearnNow programs support academic success during the school year, prevent summer learning loss, and provide basic needs support services like healthy food and safe supervision. Above all else, our students receive personal mentorship from adults who care about their success and they are empowered to take on a motivated and positive mindset. Our impactful programs include:
Academic Enrichment: Enhancing reading, writing, and math skills. Our goal is to help students develop strong academic foundations and a love of learning while helping them to reach or exceed grade-level proficiencies.
Comprehensive Support: Providing individual mentorship and one-on-one support. We also nourish the whole person with healthy food and a fun, safe environment.
Enrichment Activities: Offering group games, physical activities, and small group STEM projects. Students enjoy local field trips and creative projects that expand their horizons and make learning more engaging and effective.
LearnNow Academic Summer Camp
Our Academic Summer Camp is tailored to support the unique needs of each student, helping them prepare for the upcoming academic year. Our program is a lifeline for low-income families in San Jose. We give priority to families with children who are not at grade level.
In our program, children get one-on-one tutoring and participate in small group learning focused on math and language arts, including grammar, writing, reading and comprehension. Our program provides an opportunity for children to be creative, think outside of the box and get the extra attention they need from our positive and supportive team.

Our LifeLift Up Programs
Our LifeLift Up programs are designed to help unhoused individuals and families in San Jose. As part of the program, we distribute hygiene care kits and other needed items to people without a place to live. We also coordinate a winter coat drive and shoe drive for those in need.
Hygiene Care Kits
We often take basic toiletry items for granted. Our organization provides hygiene items to unhoused individuals and families. A few of the most requested items we receive are socks, underwear, body wipes, lip balm, sanitary napkins and bottled water.
In 2024, we distributed over 10,000 hygiene, toiletry, and clothing items. We've also held coat, shoe and winter drives with our corporate partners.
